I’ve been struggling to know how to start this blog. Normally the words flow out of me. This week my friend Sam lost her battle with cancer and my head has been all over the place ever since. On the 26th September Sam told me she only had three months left to live. Although I panicked, I also thought “she’ll have longer than that”; she was such a fighter and so super positive and strong that I honestly believed she’d have double that or more. I had been speaking with friends about planning a trip to Manchester to see her and we had talked about me going there this month (November). On Monday I got the call from one of her best friends that the end had come and they didn’t think she would even make it to that night. She had slipped into unconsciousness and was in a hospice.
